When you look at the photo of this scarf you understand why this process is called chenille -- the surface is like fuzzy caterpillars. The French word for caterpillar is chenille. Although made of cotton, the fuzzy rows running the length of the scarf will keep you warm on a chilly day.
Claranne created this scarf in her studio here in Hawaii from ordinary fabric using a special process that produces the the long fluffy rows.
